Ortofon is a Danish brand with a legacy spanning over a century, renowned for producing a vast range of phono cartridges and professional audio gear. The 2M series is their celebrated line of Moving Magnet (MM) cartridges, developed in conjunction with Danish industrial designer Møller Jensen. The 2M series is engineered to provide precise and accurate retrieval of the groove information without coloration, utilizing Ortofon’s proprietary split pole pins to achieve the flat frequency response normally associated with Moving Coil designs.

The 2M Red is the world’s best-selling entry-level audiophile cartridge. It uses a bonded elliptical diamond stylus to deliver an open, dynamic sound with a slight touch of warmth. Ortofon 2M Blue
The 2M Blue represents a significant step up in resolution. It features a superior nude elliptical stylus (a whole diamond mounted directly to the cantilever). This lower-mass design tracks the groove more accurately, resulting in clearer highs, enhanced dynamics, and a more expansive soundstage than the Red.
Ortofon 2M Bronze
The 2M Bronze is the “sweet spot” of the 2M series, featuring a Nude Fine Line stylus and an upgraded internal engine with silver-plated copper coils. The slim profile of the Fine Line stylus retrieves more high-frequency information and micro-dynamics from the groove, offering a beautifully balanced, controlled, and detailed sound.

One of the greatest features of the Ortofon 2M cartridges is the easy stylus interchangeability.
